« on: November 26, 2005, 11:24:06 AM »

Referred to http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/palm.phage.dropper.html

and some reports from China palm user.. they do encounter this virus and need to hard-reset their palm with all their file gone in SD card!!

Norton Anti-virus claimed able to dedect this virus provided you enable the scan on .prc file.. those with Norton Anti-Virus please do so..

As I'm using free version of Avast! On.. not sure if it works...  Sad

Well.. lokks like got to do more backup..

The article was created in 2000.  Viruses are pretty non-existent for Palms because most older Palms are not directly connected to the internet.  Viruses require mass infections to survive and standalone Palms can't offer mass infection in a short time.

After saying that, once the Treos start getting mainstream and more popular, I'm sure that they will start surfacing.

Yes, I agree that a regular backup is probably best.
