From the dicussion at Treocentral, possible improvements are: 1. auto-cleanup (or auto-resets) when free ram get below a certain point 2. the volume on the speaker (internal and external) is much loud 3. DMTF tones are definitely shorter 4. GSM & EDGE connections seem to be better 5. a big improvement in db cache management I found two possible disadvantages: 1. the mic is too sensitive & some experience echo 2. problems with Blazer to access sites due to proxy issue Many people who installed it were already downgrade to 1.31. So, Palmdoc......I don't dare to try it For other ROMs: (also copied from Trecentral) 1.23: http://www.codywalker.com/temp/Treo650-fw123.zip1.28: http://www.codywalker.com/temp/Treo...pdater_1_13.zip1.31: http://www.simnet.is/lappari/FW131Update.zip

You know what? I upgraded the FW! Was so boring waiting for my car to be washed. Got my notebook with me....and somehow my Treo is quite slow.....so I just upgrade to 1.43. So far so good. Yes, the phone function appears faster. Others...not sure.

Haha. I take my hat off to you Jamal Brave lor Anyway do share your experience for the benfit of the more cowardly who prefer to wait for the official release I hope the latest firmware release will address the NVFS/Dbcache issue further as I think there are still more bugs to fix.

So far, not a single crash. Infact I rarely encounter a reset. I don't have many apps install tho'. Just the usual things.

Actually, for me at least, *any* firmware upgrade - whether official or not - wrecks my nerves. I can always hard reset if a software screws up my Palm, but a firmware... if something goes wrong... touch wood touch wood!

Yeah I know the feeling. Actually one reason I don't want to experiment yet is because "if it ain't broke..." My Treo with 1.28/1.13 is actually performing very well. I have not noticed major porblems and there has been only one spontaneous reset in the past 2 weeks. The only main issue I have is the NVFS/dbcache. If the newer firmware resolves or lessens it more, then I'm all for it. Right now dbcache tool will be the temporary fix.

May I ask, what are the advantages of 1.31 over the official release of 1.28/ROW 1.13?

Thanks for trying anyway! Hopefully the official version when out will get it right.

Honestly, I forgot already. But everytime I upgrade the FW, I'll get more memory space left. I dunno whether it was due to the hard reset I did or the FW itself. You might google for the answer.
