Treo 650: Loose hotsync connector
« on: October 05, 2005, 10:00:51 PM »

The one came with my Treo already loose. I can charge with no problem but poor connection for hotsync. I bought a cheap sync-charge cable & after a few months, it is too became loose. Anybody else with the same experience?

I bought 2 Brando Cradles for the Treo650. The connection is better than the cables. Very nice fit. Pity there is no hotsync button but it charges via USB. Yup the stock cable is a little fiddly. Perhaps you could call up Palm for a replacement cable.

I just got a Brando cradle for my T5 as well. The loose connector is really getting to me. Plus if I leave my T5 in the cradel, I will never need to charge it Grin

Finally I called PalmOne....and within 5 minutes, they already confirmed the service order of the replacement sync cable! What a fantastic service! Now, I just have to wait for 3-5 working days.

I'm getting quite annoyed with my cables. I too got replacement cables but truth to be told, those are not the problem. It's the freakin' connector. It gets loose too easily.

Since it was the holidays, and I left my cradle at the office, it was very hard to get a reliable connection to Hotsync. I usually have to spend about 5 minutes to place the T5 somewhere it wouldn't accidentally dislodge the cable 1/2 way through the Hotsync process. Usually it's a hit-or-miss with Hotsyncing via cable for me.

I wished Palm didn't skimp on the cradle... really.

You know, for their "top of the line" product you would have thought Palm would include a cradle with the Treo650. It's terribly short sighted of them. Now they have to replace those cables and lose customer goodwill. In the end it will cost them more.

Brando's service is pretty good too so you should be getting it via airmail quite shortly. It's quite light that's why the shipping is only $3

tembeling, I believe when you purchased it, there's a free shipping offer. I remember Brando giving free shipping close to the end of last year as well.
